Une formation inhabituelle, pour une musique ouverte à l’écriture et à l’improvisation, musique qui suive le fil de la mélodie. Construire un univers musical en l’imprégnant de musiques dites populaires tout en se frottant aux musiques contemporaines et improvisées ; faire entendre les chants nostalgiques ou joyeux des mille miroirs de nos mémoires et de nos envies.

Chacun des quatre musiciens qui composent ce quartet est présent avec sa propre personnalité, son propre parcours musical, et la musique qui naîtra de cette exploration en commun a pour ambition de dépasser les chemins tracés et les habitudes individuelles pour créer une atmosphère, un son de groupe particulier et caractéristique.

An unusual combination of instruments, for a music open to composing and improvisation. The purpose is to construct a specific musical world by travelling within the so-called popular musics and the contemporary and improvised musics: offering the nostalgic or joyful songs of the thousand of mirrors reflecting our memories and our wishes.

Each of the four musicians in this group is here, with his/her own personnality, his/her own musical background: this common exploration gives birth to a music aiming at going beyond the ready-made paths and the individual habits to create a specific atmosphere, a peculiar and genuine sound.

Ookpik est le nom que les Inuits donnent à la Harfang des Neiges, grande chouette blanche de la toundra arctique, dont les apparitions sont aussi rares que précieuses, comme autant de poésie volée au ciel. Il en va ainsi du Quartet de Christofer Bjurström et de sa musique, qui partage avec ce rapace nocturne l'élégance, le raffinement et la discrétion.
