"Sea Song(e)s" est une expérience imaginée à partir de l'oeuvre de Robert Wyatt, icône intemporelle et compositeur/vocaliste culte des grandes heures progressives anglaises. Autour du batteur Bruno Tocanne, s'unissent les claviers de Sophia Domancich, la trompette de Rémi Gaudillat complétés par le chant et les multiples effets sonores d'Antoine Läng. Morceau d'ouverture du merveilleux "Rock Bottom" de Wyatt, Sea Song fait office de point d'ancrage : cette petite pièce aux couleurs diaphanes devient ici la matière minimaliste et poétique. Le piège était d'évidence une vaine relecture ou un mimétisme hasardeux: il n'en est rien. C'est une création emplie d’atmosphères crépusculaires, de climats clairs-obscurs, bien au delà de toutes étiquettes identifiables, une architecture sonore aux formes évolutives et anguleuses, peuplée de quelques saillies froides et coupantes. On se plait à oublier le concept initial, happés par la profondeur de ces vagues électriques de piano Rhodes, comme ces sensuelles mouvances harmoniques, entre jazz, rock et rêverie psychédélique. "Sea Song (e) s" is an experience imagined from the work of Robert Wyatt, timeless icon and composer / vocalist cult of the best progressive rock hours. Around the drummer Bruno Tocanne, the keyboards of Sophia Domancich, the trumpet of Rémi Gaudillat completed by the song and the multiple sound effects of Antoine Läng. The opening song of Wyatt's marvelous "Rock Bottom", Sea Song acts as an anchor point: this small song with diaphanous colors becomes here a minimalist and poetic material. The trap was obviously a vain replay or a hazardous imitation: it is not so !. It is a creation filled with crepuscular atmospheres, dark and clear climates, well beyond any identifiable labels, a sound architecture with evolutionary and angular forms, populated by some cold and sharp projections. You forget the initial record with happiness, caught up in the depths of these electric piano waves, like these sensual harmonic movements, between jazz, rock and psychedelic reverie.
