Depuis plusieurs mois, Yvan Robilliard rêve son nouvel album. Il y aura un batteur, solidement ancré dans la tradition Afro-Américaine, son complice bassiste - viking Laurent David, une force de la nature et un maître des basses fréquences.
Cette fois, il fera appel à un directeur artistique, Daniel Yvinec.
Depuis longtemps, son savoir et son audace grand- angle l'interpellent.
Ensemble, ils écoutent une foule de batteurs et le choix naturellement se porte sur Justin Faulkner, celui qui à 17 ans a dû choisir entre une carrière de percussionniste symphonique et la chaire de batteur auprès de Brandford Marsalis, précédemment occupée par le maître Jeff Tain Watts. La suite est inscrite dans l ‘histoire...
Lorsqu'ils imaginent l'album, lorsqu'ils cherchent l ‘étincelle, la direction vers laquelle les compositions vont converger, Yvinec évoque le « Lifetime » de Tony Williams, un groupe en tous points singulier qui tout en incorporant le rock, le funk et la musique psychédélique n'oublie rien ni de l ‘audacieuse interaction du Jazz, ni de sa folle liberté.
« Lifetime » sera la trame, l'inspiration de ce nouvel album conçu autour d'un batteur- orchestrateur d'exception dont le style, forgé par un amour immodéré du Jazz est également nourri par les braises du Funk, de la Pop et du Métal...
Yvan Robilliard écrira avec tous ces éléments en tête, un hommage très personnel à la pensée novatrice et libertaire de Tony Williams, spécifiquement dédié à des musiciens choisis pour leur capacité à transcender ces mondes, à aller plus loin encore, ensemble.
Lorsque les quatre se retrouvent, c'est une histoire qui instantanément s'écrit ...
Le disque se fera sans casque, Robilliard, Faulkner, David et Yvinec sont disposés en cercle, ils échangent librement, parlent de groove, de formes, de nuances, d'intention... et offrent, aux oreilles d'exception du légendaire Philippe Tessier- Ducros, une matière sonore étonnante, une météorite qui se consume du feu d'une inspiration et d'un sens du collectif exceptionnels. Le tout, confectionné en trois journées d'une grande intensité les laissent sonnés, eux-mêmes pris par surprise par une telle puissance.

For several months, Yvan Robilliard has been dreaming up his new album. He will have a drummer, firmly anchored in the Afro-American tradition, his accomplice bassist - Viking Laurent David, a force of nature and a master of low frequencies.
This time, he will call upon an artistic director, Daniel Yvinec.
For a long time, his knowledge and his wide-angle audacity have appealed to him.
Together, they listened to a host of drummers and the choice naturally fell on Justin Faulkner, the one who at 17 had to choose between a career as a symphonic percussionist and the chair of drummer with Brandford Marsalis, previously occupied by the master Jeff Tain Watts. When they imagine the album, when they look for the spark, the direction towards which the compositions will converge, Yvinec evokes the "Lifetime" of Tony Williams, a singular group which while incorporating rock, funk and psychedelic music forgets nothing of the audacious interaction of Jazz, nor of its crazy freedom.
